The temple’s growth was restricted and limited to the size of a small hut in the early years but over the years it has turn out to be one of the biggest temples in Johor Bahru.
Glass work will be the most special thing to say about the temple.
The artwork looks creative and neat on each part of the temple.
Each pattern and design is mostly my own and the Myanmar artisan brothers have put it together beautifully. More than 300,000 beads of Rudraksha are pasted onto the walls in the Shiva sanctum in the Temple.

Three hundred thousand pieces of colored glasses, namely blue, red, yellow, green, purple and white, will give shape to the Arulmigu Sri Raja Kaliamman Temple at Jalan Tebrau in Johor Bahru State of Malaysia. And when completed in October 2009, it will be the first Hindu Glass Temple in the world.
Around 95 per cent of the Arulmigu Sri Raja Kaliamman temple's walls, ceiling, domes and pillars will be adorned with more than three hundred thousand pieces of colorful glasses imported from Thailand, Japan and Belgium. The estimated cost of the temple is 3 million Malaysian Ringgit.
The original Arulmigu Sri Raja Kaliamman Temple was built in 1922. The temple needed a makeover and the Temple committee decided on transforming the temple into something unique.

The idea of building the temple of glass from Guru trip to Bangkok. While riding in a tuk-tuk, diamond saw from a distance of 2 km. The tuk-tuk driver told him it was an ‘Watt’ (temple). He asked the driver to take him there. I was surprised by the glass artwork done in some parts of the watt. He considered this work glass amaze and dazzle visitors. In fact, this temple is dedicated as a symbol of love to Mother Kali. He strongly believes that this temple will attract not only local but also people around the world to get the blessing of Mother Kali.
